PD Dr. Käfer completed his medical training at the Barmherzige Brüder Hospital in Trier and his orthopaedic training at the Orthopedic University Hospital in Homburg/Saar. He is currently Head of the RWZ Rücken- und Wirbelsäulenzentrum in Kaiserslautern and Associate Professor at the University Hospital Mannheim/ Heidelberg. His research and clinical interests include lumbar spine disc replacement.
